Rooted in the opposition movement to the Vietnam war, the term “Flower Power” was coined by American Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in 1965 as a means to transform war protests into peaceful spectacles of passive resistance. Though it would later become a generalized reference to the Hippie Movement itself, today the psychedelic hues of Flower Power continue to inspire artists to resist the status quo.
